Veterans Program IT Training

Time to take off the tin-foil hat :)

I took advantage of a one week entrepreneur course put on by the
Kaufmann Foundation for veterans. It was geared to help veterans become
independent business owners and was a very good deal.

In this case, as was pointed out, there is a bit of a problem with
veterans who have been doing the nation's dirty work so the 98% can live
in ignorance. This is a great opportunity to reskill in a trade that
has a shortage. We all know big companies are importing IT labor
because of a "shortage" and now we can alleviate that shortage with
American labor. Having worked with former military and non-military
alike in the IT field, I would rather have a vet on my team than a
non-vet because they've put up with horrid work conditions and are team
players.

As far as TV goes - really?!?!? You mean you can't hack the NSA with a
hydra through a backdoor while a gun is pointed at your head and Ginger
(Halle Berry) working her wiles on your manparts in under 59 seconds?
When it comes to guns and IT, there's reality and there's Hollywood and
a very large gap in between. I'm at the point now where I won't watch
anything put out by Hollywood that involves either one.

Peace.
