VOIP Shopping time

I put together my own voip tis past weekend. After looking at like 4-5
FOSS websites. I was honestly more confused then when I started
looking around. Everything to melooked like stuff for call centers. I
just want a simple phone.

I have Comcast which doesn't block any ports here, but does cap the
usage at 250GB month, otherwise they think you're doing something
illegal and just about tell you that in their stuff.

The only other thing was MagicJack who is supposed to in this qtr have
a Linux port, they don't and mums the word. So I ..yes wait for it..
picked up another eee which gives me 8.5 hrs UPS in case of power
failure, small footrint, Green, its own built in monitor and keybd. I
plugged it into the router ran thru it's registration to get a phone
numer supplied to me, and for $10 yr I have FREE local/long distance.
I hated having to get a W7 box but I'm fairly competent at putting
computer stuff together and it seemed like you had to have a degree in
rocket science or brain surgery. It sounds great, no echoes on either
end and no cut offs during the convos. To boot my TOMTOM seems to have
linx support in a python app I've yet to try but it needed it too so
my maps are up to date....cool thing...this one tells you were all the
traffic cams are located...muahahahahahaha
