rsync and exclude hidden files

Hi,
  I am new to this list. Just wanted to be a part of the list.

You might want to use  --exclude=".*/" in your  rsync statement as 
mentioned by Brian Cluff and if you need to include any specific file, 
and that is hidden file
then you could add --include=".specialfile"
