Off topic kills value of the list and group

As one of the participants that caused this uproar I must apologize for upsetting so many people.

I have been on several tech lists for about 10 years and added a 3rd about 2 years ago.  I've only been involved in 1 or 2 off topic discussions over that period.  While setting through several hundred.

I tend to deleted a ton of email everyday without reading it.  If there is several posts on a subject and the subject looks promising I may read one or two posts and then delete the rest.  I've never really thought much about it.  I like the 3 lists I belong to and will continue to manage them as I always have.

I truly am sorry that so may people have become upset over my posts.  I took for granted that most folks were more like me.

I will more than likely go back to lurking and asking a question now and then.

Until next time please accept my apology.

Suppose I had never been to a Krispy Kreme Donut shop. Others told me
how wonderful it is, with the fryer and smells, etc. So with great
anticipation I walk in the door...and find they are frying battered
halibut. But they are frying a about 1 donut for every 30 slabs of
fish meat. Should I be expected to ignore (delete) the fish and enjoy
the few donuts?

Just asking people to use the delete key and setup filters is NOT the
answer. The list and PLUG will loose it's identity and purpose, lost
in the politics, religion and whatever else.

(I think my metaphor smells. ;^)
