Cool, I hadn't tried to setup GMail for the SMTP server (GAfYD doesn't support the features I need yet), so I wasn't aware it uses a port other than 25 for access.  Looks like Alan can just set the GMail emails to go out via GMail's SMTP server and it'll fix the issue he's seeing...
