Exim on Ubuntu

I know my ISP does not block it because a) my Thunderbird accounts reach my
mail servers every day, and b) the mail function on my FreeBSD box works
just fine.
Here is some info from my logs...

Here is the path I expect it to take:
eric at e-mobile-2 (laptop) -> mail.voltampenterprises.com (smtp mail server)
-> eric.cope at gmail.com (final destination)

what is a 550 dns entry?

I don't have a problem cutting out the mail server, but I thought that was
the best way to get the mail out...

Thanks in advance.

Eric
