Drupal, Wordpress + alt-economics ( was: Using WordPress permalinks )

  What I see in this space is Marketing types that are blind to new
technological developments.  WP is designed for a very specific
purpose, but Drupal has the capacity to encompass a lot of new
emerging trends.  I've had some marketing people blow up when someone
suggests an alternative to WP, I would assume this indicates that this
world has a lot invested in this technology.  I get involved in the
Drupal world and it is very lively and active.  WP seems to be
supported by SEO Gurus and Marketing professionals.  WP risks getting
squeezed out of their position due to Google's investment in
Blogger.com and WP dependency on Google.  You might see Yahoo latch
onto WP, but if youre in the Linux world its good to stay in line with
Google for the near future.  I guess its all a question of what wave
you want to catch. :)

  The initial climb is a bit of a workout with Drupal, but in my view
its worth it, theres a great view from that plateau once you get up
there.
