Editing ISO

Q1) Would this not be read only?
Q2) If I have to remake the ISO using mkisofs would I not destroy the
boot information from the original volume?

Mount the ISO using loopback file system:

 modprobe loop
 mount -t iso9660 -o loop output.iso /mnt

Edit the file under /mnt.

Then create the new ISO image (like with mkisofs or mkhybrid).
