K3B burns Memorex DVD's but not Maxell???

what's in syslog / dmesg ?  Anything of interest?

It's probably unable to eject because a process still has a hold on the
device.

as you apparently know, those are really old versions...

$ rpm -q kdebase
kdebase-3.5.8-3.fc7

$ rpm -q k3b
k3b-1.0.3-2.fc7
