What are the steps to connect up to Qwest DSL?

Reboot with the install disk for the installed distro. There you will choose install or repair. It should give a prompt at somepoint to rebuild the boot loader. I am running SuSE and I have this option.

The pp0 option is for the modem ONLY, not the linux box. This is because the modem controle the outside connection, NOT the computer. The computer is only on the internal,LAN, side. All passwords and usernames need to be setup on the modem.

They have to give the info to you.

They donet have to support linux, just there box.If you have a windows box, boot  use it to configure the modem, then connect the linux box to the modem, problem solved for the internet connectivity.

This means there servers allowing your modem to connect to their network.
