better heatsink

my $gf and I have recently acquired frys specials.

Sounds like we've both installed wind tunnels at home :(.

I note the demo model they have runs quiet...

Anyway, so I thought I'd ask for heatsink recommendations.

Haven't looked into heatsinks for at least 6 months, so I'm horribly out
of date with what's on the market :).

I have had fanless heatsinks recommended that are essentially huge hunks
of finned copper. Pretty cool. Are they reliable? Are they massively
expensive?

My box will be moving into a cabinet, so I'm mostly worried about
reliability and cooling, but for $gf I also want something that'll be quiet.

Any suggestions?
