Fruityloops equivalent for Linux

Lee,

Don't count on that. As far as I know, applications for music work, such as
sampling, sequencing, and so forth, cannot be found for Unix/Linux
platforms. Furthermore, they probably won't exist for a long time. Even the
primitive tracking applications are in a permanent state of "try to avoid"
when it comes to Linux.

There is one application which I found interesting on Linux, though, and
that is called "sapphire". It's an application with it's own programming
language which allowed you to generate sounds from scratch. You program the
sound algorithm from scratch, it makes the noise.
