It really depends on what your intentions are, as you posted this to the
PLUG list I would suspect you wnat to run OpenLDAP. At this time there are
not a lot of great books dealing with openldap and linux but I would be more
than willing to talk to you offlist about it. Try to search oreilly for
ldap, it should bring up some good articles.

If you are looking at other ldap servers check out implementing ldap,
