I just thought I would insert my $.02 about this. If it is really an issue,
then purchase the laptop from PC Club. They seem to be great items, and I
got a $120 (or thereabouts) discount when I priced the system out. They
really seemed like decent systems.

In the end, however, I went with the Apple Powerbook. Although I have not
attempted to install Linux yet, I must say that I have been quite pleased
with Mac OS X.

The only issue I currently have is that the included emacs doesn't include
font-lock-mode (syntax coloring), and I cannot get fink's terminal version to
work. Other than that, I have been extremely pleased with both the
productivity and the entertainment side of things. Plus, I am a big fan of
eye candy. :-P
