Long Linux Boot Time

I know others have answered already, but I have a related solution that
might work for you.

Assuming you have a network connection of some type, make sure there is a
matching entry in your /etc/hosts file.  If you IP address is 1.2.3.4 then
you should have a line similar to the following in your /etc/hosts file:

1.2.3.4		hostname.domain.name	hostname

Adjust the names appropriately. :)
