Donlin,

I have no particular experience with using POS for anything :), however I
remember reading articles about a couple of different systems in The Linux
Journal.

I did a search for point of sale and came up with several articles.

You might also want to check with database lists as databases tend to get
used for the inventory portions of POS :).
