Linux and AppleTalk

OK

I finally went back to Anders Bronworth's web site.

The netatalk-1.4b2+asun2.1.3-7 tarball is what I am currently using and it
incorporates AFP over IP which is why it probably wouldn't work with OS 7
clients unless they were to install a more current AppleShare client
(something like version 3.74 or newer). If you want OS 7 clients - check out
Appleshare Workstation 3.65
<http://asu.info.apple.com/swupdates.nsf/artnum/n10133>

I figured out what the afpfs is and never tried to install it as it has
little that interests me (makes linux an Appleshare client - much the same
as Samba client would operate). The note David Foster claims that afpfs is
in very poor shape right now / pre-alpha I think he calls it is enough to
discourage me from playing with it.
