Well!  The 98 startup did work after I disconnected the 2nd HDD that had
linux.  I did read somewhere that some programs, like LILO, can't handle
something over 1024 cylinders on the disk.

I guess the moral here is create a Linux boot floppy, not load LILO if
you're dual booting using large HDD.  And should I not do it, you should
-- BACK IT UP!

Someday I'll learn to do that before I start messing around! :)
