However, taking into consideration this is an internal move, the question
is - would they negotiate with you and on what terms? Some places will
lowball you.
Document the tasks and look for a standard. Are you automating/writing
scripts, or are you a server babysitter with minimal tasks?

Really depends. But I will say several years ago, a friend of mine came
here to the valley as a consultant and scooped up a perm rate of 140k as a
Linux sys admin... so - maybe you can ask around to the linux admins here
in town - maybe not a lot on this list, maybe there are... I know he would
never attend PLUG... js
