Hi Michael,

Sounds like a good idea.  I recently saw and ad that said bookkeepers 
are in demand.  Keep in mind it was a advertisement.

If you want to do this I would consider Quickbooks so you can exchange 
data with your customers.

I used the search phrase "does intuit offer free training in quickbooks" 
on Google and it returned:

I would recommend you put together a business plan that includes what it 
will take to run Windows and pay for the Intuit training.
This will help in your decision making.  This should include a marking 
plan - how are you going to acquire customers.

I run Win 10 because my video editing software is Windows only.

I have an old laptop that runs windows. I bought it new maybe 8 years 
ago and have kept it in good condition.  I assume something like this 
might work.  My battery is still good so I am thinking this laptop might 
be worth $100 - $200.

Another option is to load VirtualBox on your Linux box and create a 
Windows guest configured for your needs.

The laptop I mentioned has 2 core/4 thread CPU which I upgraded from 8G 
of RAM to 16G of RAM.  I've evaluated it a lot and it never utilized 
more than 8GB of RAM and the CPU often spikes to 100% and then goes down 
to 60 to 70%. I think this means if I had a more powerful CPU it might 
use more RAM.

Based on my experience your Windows configuration will need 8GB of RAM 
to run windows and Quickbooks. Browsers hog RAM so keep that in mind.
