or stretching warranty law, deliberately designing products that are hard
to fix, keeping repair information secret, using patent and trademark law
to thwart repair efforts, discouraging independent third-party repairs,
and using software to lock out changes"
The FTC can't sue companies, so we won't suddenly get past boot loader
lockdowns. Still, better for us to have support from the FTC rather than
manufacturers and data pipe providers to hide behind the FTC.
