My Debian machine...

Hello,  I have been working on my new Debian 10 machine trying to get things updated and installed for a work machine.  I noticed the other day my center mouse clickwould not paste the contents of a highlighted text.  It will copy and right click paste, but not left-click copy, center mouse roller paste to anything.
What happened?  How do you fix that?Never had this happen before.thanks,Greg
