Debian 9 vs Ubuntu 18

I can think of one right now.  Plug in a usb storage device and the 
little usb icon appears at the bottom of the screen.  Click on it and 
get the option  to open in the file manager.  I get a malformed url 
error.  There are other ways to access the device.
