firefox keeps crashing, even in safe mode ...

Try renaming ~/.mozilla/firefox to something else and then restarting firefox.  (That is the directory with ALL your firefox 'stuff'.  If renaming it makes firefox work, then you may want to bring bookmarks and such across from there into the new firefox dir...)

On my Linux Mint 17 system, Firefox started crashing and now at version 49, I can't even start it in safe mode.
So hope someone can tell me how to fix this?

I've tried reinstalling, then uninstall and install from synaptic, but still the same crashing.
