restore with rsync or fix window manager

I've been backing up my ~/Pictures directory but that will cause things to
fill up so I think what I will need to do is copy that directory to it's
own flash drive:

rsync -aq --exclude --delete-excluded (on first run) ~/Pictures/*
/media/bmike1/RedSanDisk
rsync -aq --include ~/Pictures/* /media/bmike1/<tba>
