This doesn't happen with the radeon X module AFAICT.  Also, I thought 
most OpenGL features and video output bits are supported with most cards 
via radeon.  If you need something that's only supported under fglrx, 
what is that thing?  Both my old laptop and my current desktop have 
radeon cards, but the cards were/are older.  I think my desktop's got an 
HD4350 (r600).

There are usually fewer bugs in things that are open... funny, that :-)
