chromium

I messed up installing xfce (meaning that I should not have done it). Now,
when I start Chromium I can't type on it. I can't type in the address bar
and I can't type into the window (as an example there is gmail) I am
resolving this by running Chrome but I would rather run Chromium. Has
anyone experienced this and if so did you resolve it?
