Amarok taking over

I wouldn't do anything with it.  I would just install the 
kubuntu-updates PPA and get KDE 4.12.  That should have the attached fix 
already compiled into the system.

If you aren't familiar with the kubuntu-updates PPA.  It is run by the 
same people that package KDE for kubuntu itself, so it is just as 
trustworthy and of the same quality as the distribution packages themselves.
