In my opinion, skip tracing is like goggling for an elusive answer, but
more boring. And once you find the person, then you're just a bill
collector. Every big financial company hires skip tracers. Debt
collection and asset recovery firms hire skip tracers. I can't imagine
anyone wanting to be a bill collector, especially if you have a quota,
which most companies have - they only want to hire collectors that
actually collect. Skip tracing is just a part of the bill collection
process. So if you're good at research, you might do well skip
tracing. If you can sell ice to an Eskimo, you might be a good
collector. I learned a lot about skip tracing from my ex-business partner.
