In my opinion, skip tracing is like goggling for an elusive answer, but 
more boring.  And once you find the person, then you're just a bill 
collector.  Every big financial company hires skip tracers.  Debt 
collection and asset recovery firms hire skip tracers.  I can't imagine 
anyone wanting to be a bill collector, especially if you have a quota, 
which most companies have - they only want to hire collectors that 
actually collect.  Skip tracing is just a part of the bill collection 
process.  So if you're good at research, you might do well skip 
tracing.  If you can sell ice to an Eskimo, you might be a good 
collector.  I learned a lot about skip tracing from my ex-business partner.
