(OT) Sources For Laptop Memory Upgrade

Crucial also has a nice utility that you can use to verify that your laptop can support that much RAM, and specifically which type. I recently bought a laptop with 4GB of RAM thinking I could upgrade easily. Once it arrived I found that the motherboard didn't support any more than 4GB.
