I have not done this. but i can say the cat5 that is between my cable-modem
and router is only 12 inches long and its a Cat6e. im not likely to see any
change from anything like that, there really is next to no chance of
crosstalk on that cable at all. i think that may show you more benefit than
anything, cutting out excess cable from runs that do not need 50ft for a 6
ft run ect.
