Which linux distro

Yup.  There's only one real "gotcha" with Ubuntu Precise and it
involves the NVidia 295.40 driver.  With some older cards it stinks.
They just came out with 295.49 and it can be found very easily as a
.DEB file for Precise.  Highly recommended.
