How to set up a dual boot on a thinkpad

I thought Ubuntu was from South Africa! Hey.... how do I figure out  which
WM I run? I checked duck-duck-go but can't seem to find which window
manager it is..... Is MATE a window manager? If so you can choose between
MATE and Cinammon in Mint 13 (derivative of Ubuntu).
