I use it. Disclaimer: I work for Canonical.
At the most basic level it creates a folder on your computer "Ubuntu
One" -- anything you put in that folder will show up on all your other
computers running Ubuntu One. As you start to play with it more you can
share other folders on your system including things like Music, which
you can then stream to your phone (actually it caches a fixed amount on
your phone so you have something on the airplane).
I've also used it to do an online backup of my machine using deja-dup.
It worked, but I decided my DSL isn't fast enough for online back up in
general -- Verizon's fault not U1's :-)
