WiFi hardware question

if you're talking about plugging something into the laptop to get better
wireless then the above's what you want.

I don't think an access point is what you want. It gets confusing
because the standard Linksys models are like switches, routers, and
wireless access points all rolled into one little box, they even have
some firewall capabilities too. 

So anyway there are USB adapters with big antennas and you can replace
them with even bigger antennas - it's fun.
