3d rendering in VM's

I am looking to try and get 3d rendering in VM's and was wondering if
anyone here know if KVM was part of that list

I know virtualbox calls it a standard feature. I also found VMGL
(formerly Xen-GL)

has anyone done any of this? what kind of results did you get?
