Cheap Linux compatible video cards

So, I have an older system, 250 Watt Power supply, with a NVIDIA 
Gforce4 Ti 4200 card.....and I get some "herky-jerky" video out......

Seems like all the newer, faster cards want 300 watt power......  I 
would like to upgrade.

Any suggestions..............?
