Update the firmware.    Various firmware bots and exploits exist.

Ubuntu is patched the most recent firmware using the 802.11 standards.

Script kiddies pound older routers until they failover and then install bots
and firmware upgrades.

What is your router version?

Save your router configuration and examine it with a binary reader and see
what's there?
