Ubuntu Desktop locks

Intel graphics?  There's some big problems with the Intel drivers in
9.04.  They seem to happen less when disabling Compiz and other 3d
graphics.  There's also an X edgers PPA that has updated drivers, but
they're a little more bleeding edge.
