memory, hardware information & palm pre

memory;
my computer uses sd ram, and i mistakenly (twice) stupidly bought ddr 
ram, so i have a 512 mb and a 256mb ddr ram sticks that i cannot use. 
would anyone want to trade for any old 256 or greater sd ram they may 
have just hanging around??? i can mail or pickup (if on the far west side).

hardware information:
i went from feisty to hardy and noticed that there is no longer 
"system-preferences-hardware information" in the gui. i miss this since 
i'm not good at remembering those things. is there a way to find that 
same info either in gui or cl??
(otherwise i am super happy w/hardy)

OT
palm pre:
any ideas on if the palm pre will play well with linux like the treo 650 
does?
