Here is one suggestion: DeVry, (2149 W. Dunlap).

The IEEE Computer Society usually meets there about once a month, and they
are a non-profit .org, although maybe not quite as "free" (as in gratis) to
join, as we are.

For years they have (usually) held their meetings there. DeVry apparently
still has a wonderful policy, regarding allowing the use of their
building "free" (gratis) by non-profit .org's. (as of the last time I
checked.)

Also, David Huerta is probably familiar with that "policy", because, in the
past at least, the DeVry LUG (DeLug) used to meet there.
(I am not sure if DeLug still exists, /slash, whether it still has a web
presence -- since http://www.devrylinux.org/ now says "The domain [name] *
devrylinux.org* may be for sale by its
owner!<http://www.sedo.com/search/details.php4?domain=devrylinux.org&partnerid=14460&language=e&et_cid=25&et_lid=65>
")

DeVry is a little farther for some "W side" members (like me) to get to, but
it is closer for others. It is probably closer for just about anyone coming
from "Central" Phoenix or the "E side" -- plus, some parts of the "W side".

The parking at DeVry is adequate; and it is less than a mile from I-17, so
it's accessible via freeway. Also, it is walking distance from 19th Ave.,
so a person using the bus could get there OK. (even light rail --
connecting with the "19th Ave." bus).

Another idea: PLUG "W Side" meetings used to be held [in the "High Tech 1"
building] at GCC = Glendale Community College. It also has adequate
parking; and it is probably available "free" (as in gratis) for non-profit
.org's. But it would not be my first choice.

A 3rd idea: The library where we met in June 2009 (also July, 2009). It is
called the "Foothills" branch of the Glendale public library. It is fairly
close to the Loop 101 freeway and 59th Ave. (less than a mile).
