Why not just use a Google Custom Search style thing that's hosted.

Subject: Local website search
I would like to configure a "local search" for a selection of webpages
running on Go Daddy's Linux hosting. In essence, there would be a
search box on a page that people could use to search just that website.
The first one that came to mind was ht://Dig but there doesn't look to
be any activity on that project for at least five years and it may not
work under Go Daddy's infrastructure (requiring it to be compiled and
installed like any other Unix application).
Go Daddy supports PHP, Perl CGI, Python CGI and Ruby CGI. Does anyone
know of a local web search engine that will run under one of these?
