moin moin,

we've got a couple of GNU/Linux classes on the schedule for June.

CIS271DL - GNU/Linux Security will be a hands on class covering many
security topics for GNU/Linux.

Red Hat has been using SE Linux for both CentOS and Fedora for a while.
Ubuntu now comes with AppArmor. Those are just a couple of examples
how GNU/Linux security is no longer just about turning off unneeded
services and tossing up a basic firewall.

Take CIS271DL and learn about a wide range of topics such as firewalling,
account and password management, monitoring, system rescue and forensics,
intrusion detection and protecting other operating systems.

Mondays and Wednesdays
18:00 - 21:30
2008Jun02 - 2008Jul23

CIS126DL - Introduction to GNU/Linux provides a survey of the GNU/Linux
operating system.

Students will learn the basics of using GNU/Linux. The class covers basic
use of GNU/Linux and also dives down into introductory technical topics
such as basic command line usage, networking, installation and package
management.

CIS126DL is a springboard class for MCC's Linux Networking Administration
degree. The survey course leads to advanced classes such as system
administration, the LAMP stack, networked services administration, shell
scripting and security.

Tuesdays and Thursdays
18:00 - 21:30
2008Jun03 - 2008Jul24

For both classes contact Jessica at the Business and Industry Institute to
enroll.
