Majicjack is for "free"voice calling only. Remove this from the entire problem to start with! This would be of great help. The Sprint broadband card likely is the culprit! The computer is likely trying to get online using that interface. In a terminal check the lines in iwconfig. See which interface is connected and if it is the sprint card, try ifconfig wlanXX down (replace the XX with your iwconfig output value).

Way to confusing. Be more specific, which cable on the router? Modem to router via the internet port or the numbered (local) ports? Did you reset the Ethernet port on the laptop? Try ifconfig to see the interfaces on the laptop. Then try ifconfig ethXX down then ifconfig ethXX up
Hope this helps, but I need more info..
