how best to convert a pdf to a high-res jpg? Solved!

I used kinkos before with PDF.  For volume I like Scott Blue or
Perkinson Reprographics.  But your rite, PDF is about 5 times the price.
Though usually the cheapest for those places is a TIFF.

Thanks Jeremy.  I think this 'pdftoppm' will do what I need.

The reason I need a jpg is to get photos printed (from Costco) for four
reasons: #1 to make sure all the colors are correct,
#2 to be able to make individual photo prints in various sizes for
various marketing needs, #3 to send a photo print color proof to our
book printer in Michigan for color verification/matching, and #4 because
I do not have a high-res color printer and I am not aware of any place
locally where I can get a pdf files printed in high-res color and
various sizes.  I called Kinko's and didn't get a satisfactory response
(or price) from them.
