Let me add another point: you should be aware of what software your distro uses for WiFi/network management. Most today are using some variant of "Network Manager", a Red Hat project. Wicd is another possibility, it's not as common as NM. Sabayon is a Gentoo fork so they're likely using whatever Gentoo comes with. Jim
