Need topic for tomorrow!

Okay all, I'm really sorry. 

The instructions on this board say, "The board will answer telnet connections to IP addresss 192.168.0.50"

So guess what I do.  I put an ethernet cable in from my laptop to the board, and I telnet 192.168.0.50.  Guess what happens, nothing.  I retry with a crossover cable.  Guess what happens.  Nothing.

I'm dead in the water until I try with this crappy 232 connection which I have to dismantle the whole board and get a part to translate 232  to USB which I don't have at home.
