Did installing mplayer foul up my system?

Weird... You using Ubuntu? Did you use a third party repo? Maybe it
broke something...
I know I had troubles getting MPlayer to work in Dapper.
But whatever you do, no matter who tells you what, DON'T even touch
Automatix.
