Thunderbird won't send -- partially solved

In general you should be using your ISP's outgoing mail server. More and more
ISPs are not allowing outgoing SMTP (port 25) connections outside of their
local network to stem the spam tide. So you have to use your ISP's SMTP
server in those cases.
I did a quick search and found that Qwest's incoming and outgoing mailservers
for the Phoenix area are pop.phnx.qwest.net. Why are you using Denver's? Are
you in Denver?
