I had to chime in on this one since I *used* to be an OS X user.
I know this is a Linux newsgroup (Mint 3.0 is fantastic, IMHO), but I

Fine, Apple makes great hardware.
I'm looking at the 20" iMac as it has a DVD writer built in. Is this a

Fine again, I would just recommend running Linux on it, not only because
this is a Linux list, but also because of the vendor lockin that comes with
OS X. Apple is actually worse than Microsoft as far as OS updates are
concerned. Try to find updates for OS 10.2.8. You can't. You have to
spend $129 for tiger/panther/puma/lynx/calico captive, etc. If you are okay
shelling this out every 1-2 years, that's fine. I opt not to.
We now run debian on me old G4.
